VOLUNTEER
We have a crew of beautiful people that help make Kindling Collective possible. Want to get involved? You don't need to know everything or anything, you just have to love being a part of our big queer community! Keep reading below for more information about ways to get involved.
Volunteer Librarians
Volunteer librarians do not need to have a ton of experience with outdoor trips and equipment, but should be passionate about the outdoors, supporting queer people, and the sharing economy. Volunteer librarians interact with borrowers at the front desk, help with gear reservations and sorting, check equipment in and out, and field membership questions.

Requirements
-
Complete at least one 2-hour shift per month but are welcome to volunteer more.
-
Attend volunteer meetings, which are usually on a weekday evening.
-
Participate in a volunteer training. Volunteer training is a three-hour introduction to the Kindling Collective Gear Library. It includes a review of library policies and an outdoors inclusion training.
Pit Crew Volunteer
Gear repair team members work independently or in community with other teammates to diagnose and repair our equipment. If you have experience with gear repair, sewing, mending, or just taking things apart and fixing ‘em, we need your help! Help keep our inventory in tip-top shape to keep everyone safe, dry and having fun outside.
Event Volunteers
We are always looking for help at our open houses, events and happy hours! No experience is necessary. This is a great option for people who want to pitch in, but can’t commit to a regular volunteer shift.
Class, Workshop,
Outing Leads
Have an idea that you think would make a great class? Really passionate about foraging, herping, birding, bike-packing, slacklining, etc.? We are currently looking for instructors, especially queer and trans people, who have interests and skills to share!
Money Making Volunteers
Are you a grant writer, fundraiser, development magician, queen of something? Lend your skills, knowledge, and energy to Kindling Collective to help us stay open, up and running!
Have Other Skills?
Just because it isn't listed doesn't mean we don't need it! Shoot us a message and let us know how you'd like to contribute!
